LM7805 5V TO-220 Positive Voltage Regulator IC

The LM7805 is one of the most widely used positive voltage regulator ICs in electronics, taking a higher DC input and outputting a clean, regulated +5V with about 2% regulation. It has a roughly 2.5V dropout, so it needs at least 7V in to deliver a stable 5V out, and it dissipates the difference as heat — pair it with a heatsink in higher-current designs.
