The AMS1117-5.0 is a low-dropout three-terminal voltage regulator delivering a fixed 5V output at up to 1A, in the same compact SOT-223 SMD footprint as the rest of the AMS1117 family. With built-in thermal shutdown and current-limit protection, it’s a reliable, low-cost way to add a clean 5V rail to SMD-based PCB designs.
